Effective October 9, 2017, there will be a change in toll rates on the Metro ExpressLanes in & around Los Angeles. The maximum toll rate has increased from $1.80 per mile to $1.90 per mile.

Metro ExpressLanes is implementing this change to continue to manage congestion and provide a safe, reliable and predictable commute for ExpressLanes users. There will be no change to the minimum toll rates of $0.35 per mile during peak hours and $0.10 per mile during the off-peak hours.

Please remember that you must have a the right type of transponder in your vehicle to use the ExpressLanes. Bestpass has multiple transponder options that will cover your fleet.

The Metro ExpressLanes project got its start in April 2008, when the U.S. Department of Transportation entered into an agreement with the California Department of Transportation and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The collaboration converted existing high-occupancy vehicle lanes into dynamically-priced high-occupancy toll lanes.
